Energy autonomy
Energy where the grid doesn’t reach or isn’t enough.
Energy autonomy makes it possible to operate where the power grid doesn’t reach, is unstable or can’t meet demand. Combining storage, solar generation and, where available, a generator lets each site run on the resources it has.
Mine sites, construction sites, camps and farms often depend on generators that run for many hours, even when demand is low. Fuel, its transport and maintenance are part of the cost of operating away from the grid.
- 01
The site is assessed
Demand throughout the day, the solar resource and the sources already available, such as an existing generator, are reviewed.
- 02
Storage covers low demand
During low-consumption periods, the battery supplies the operation and the generator can stay off.
- 03
The generator supports when needed
With automatic control, the generator starts when demand rises or the battery needs recharging.
The reduction in generator hours and fuel depends on demand, the solar resource and how the system is sized.
